Lesson Two
1. In your own words, and with biblical support, discuss the relationship between speaking in tongues and prophecy:
Speaking in tongues, also known as glossolalia, means is the practice in which people complete words or speech-like sounds, frequently thought by believers to be languages unknown to the speaker. One definition used by linguists is the fluid vocalizing of speech-like syllables that lack any readily understands meaning. Meanwhile, one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is prophecy. This gift is an identifying mark of the remnant church and was clear in the ministry.
According to 1 Corinthians 14:1-5 Speaking in tongues edifies the person who is speaking because it is a communication to God that no one else understands. Prophecy edifies the church because this is communication from God to men through the prophets. Also see. Acts. 19:6 when Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.
2. In your own words, and with biblical support, discuss the possibility of laymen being used in the gift of prophesy:
Romans 4:3 NIV: “What does Scripture say?’Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness.
We find that everyone has been given a measure of faith (verse 3) and that we each have a gift different from one another, some have the gift of prophecy, some are called into other forms of ministry, some the each, and come cheerfully serve and encourage other.
3. In your own words and with biblical support, discuss your beliefs concerning the Scriptural ability of women to operate in the gift of prophecy:
This can establish the biblical basis for the equal value of men and women in advancing the gospel. Meanwhile, can set up both men and women the opportunity to declare their faith publicly. We all know about the prophets Moses, Isaiah, Daniel, Ezekiel and others to use for the good of the community or the church, as were the abilities of men.
Exodus 15:20 Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women followed her, with timbrels and dancing.
4. In your own words and with biblical support, discuss your beliefs concerning the Scriptural ability of children to operate in the gift of prophecy:
Scripture gives us additional on the way on how we should treat these gifts of the Holy. It let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; We are called to use our spiritual gifts to the best of our ability to strengthen. Balaam that he was not to do this, for God had blessed the children of Israel.
According to 1 Samuel 2:18 But Samuel, though he was only a boy, served the LORD. He wore a linen garment like that of a priest. Now Samuel was ministering before the LORD—a boy wearing a linen ephod.
See also, 1 Samuel 3-1-10 The boy Samuel ministered before the Lord under Eli. In those days the word of the Lord was rare; there were not many visions. 2 One night Eli, whose eyes were becoming so weak that he could barely see, was lying down in his usual place. 3 The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the house of the Lord, where the ark of God was. 4 Then the Lord called Samuel. 4Samuel answered, “Here I am.” 5 And he ran to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.”But Eli said, “I did not call; go back and lie down.” So he went and lay down. 6 Again the Lord called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.” “My son,” Eli said, “I did not call; go back and lie down.” 7 Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord: The word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him. 8 A third time the Lord called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.” Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. 9 So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, ‘Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place. 10 The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel.
5. If you are a parent and you believe that children can legitimately prophesy, ask the Lord what He would have you specifically do to stimulate and encourage the gift of prophecy in your child. Record what He tells you, and how you are obedient to Him.
i. As a parent I will fear of the Lord for what I heard will help me to respect and to depart from evil.(Job. 28:28);
ii. I will increase Faith see. Prov. 4:7 to increase knowledge and understand scriptures;

Ask the Holy Spirit to remind you of times you have rightly used your prophetic gift to edify, and convict you of any times you have been harsher than. He desired. Seek to experience and express only His heart and love for His Bride.
The word edify comes from the Greek word “oikadome” meaning to build up, as in building a wall. Its spiritual reference is to the inward building of the house of gifts. The words edify means to build up, to strengthen, make more effective. The right time to be used to edify is when God is provided the gift to edify or build up the church as seen in 1 Cor 14:3 and Cor 3:10-15.
8. Give a biblical definition of “exhortation” and its relationship to the gift of prophecy.

A feeling of relief or encouragement it’s a comfort to know that I can rely on you for help. It is Christian speaking in great personal concern, tenderness, and care release comfort of his presence as described in 1 Cor 14:3; Hos. 6:1-3’ 1Tim .
PRO 301 – Lesson Three
Listen to CD #7 and take notes in the Study Guide, Lesson Three. Complete the questions at the end of the lesson.
Intemacy In The Prophetic
1. For this cause a man shall leaves his father and mother shall unite to his wife, and they become one flesh.
2. What are the three temptations common to man?
i) Comparing Genesis 3:5-6 with John 2:16
Genesis 3:5-6 – When the woman saw that tree was good for food ……..a delight to the eye….. and also desirable to make one wise ……she took from its fruits and ate.
John 2:16 – For all that is in the world–the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the boastful pride of life it not from the Father but from the world.
Opportunities and temptations will come. When they are yielded too, they create barriers around our lives, walls and fences of self-protection.
ii) Lust of the Eyes
Our eyes and hands are instruments by which the Lord desires to move through. Yielding to these temptation to these temptations (the lust of the eyes) put up false up filters over the eyes and they become clouded.
The Seer portion of our lives is thwarted by such lust, Revelation can then get clouded. Revelation can then get clouded. The result is that there becomes mixture.
But Matthew 5:8 state the promise: Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
iii) Lust of the Flesh
Cleansing of the flesh is necessary! Psalm 24:4 says, ‘’Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? And who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and pure heart…’’
Our hands in many dimensions represent our bodies as instruments of blessing. (Ps.26:6; 1Tim.2;8)
Why do we need clean hands then? Acts of compassion come through our hands as our hearts are purified by His love. James 4:8 tells us: Cleanse your hands ….and heart. Titus 2:11-14 ‘’For the Grace of God has appeared that appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in this present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and savior, Jesus Christ; who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good works’’. Romans 6:11-12. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body that you should obey it’s lusts, and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness: but present yourselves to God as those who alive from the dead, and your members, as instruments of righteousness to God.
